As someone who works regularly in the labour ward, I have seen many professional women struggle with the loss of control which the birthing experience brings.
Remember you might be an expert on metabolic bone disease but do you remember anything about babies? The stages of labour? How to shove your boob in a babies mouth without being gripped by startling agony? Nope, I didn’t either.
Even if you have worked in Obstetrics before, are surrounded by friends with little monkeys of their own, when you enter Labour suite or Obstetric theatre, you will loose all reason, pride and knowledge you once had.
Let it go and enjoy someone else taking the responsibility for once
